Curved non-motorized treadmills will be the norm.
Have you tried a non-motorized curved treadmill yet? Prepare to be amazed. The feeling is incredible and the benefits are equally amazing.
The major problem with flat treadmills is the jolting and joint loading effect of the turning belt. Placing the foot on the spinning belt riding it back and then doing it again and again... Often this happens with improper gait and heel striking, compounding the detrimental effect on the ankles, knees and hips.
The Curve at Science Fitness changes this and not only forces a forefoot strike, but also minimizes impact through the curve. With no motor, you're also forced to assist your gravity on the curve with a slight pulling motion mimicking a propulsive stride.
Speed test anyone? The curve at Science Fitness is immediately responsive to your physical inputs, if you want to run, move your body slightly closer to the front of the curve and start running. At any moment you can hit any pace without any buttons. One of my favorite drills is all out speed. After a nice warmup, play the tread like a video game and see how fast you can go. When else can you repeatedly measure wether you are putting out max effort or not. Of course this may be to intense for some people but imagine the possibilities...
A total game changer!
If you want to try the experience, I'd be glad to share it with you, give me a call or send me a note and we'll set up a time for a demo.
See ya soon
